Loretta Duplantis Fanguy, 98, a native of Upper Little Caillou and resident of Houma, died at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
She is survived by four sons, Bernard Harold Fanguy and wife, Diane, of Houma, Jude Thaddeus Fanguy and wife, Yvonne, of Houma, David L. Fanguy and wife, Mabel, of Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and Daniel A. Fanguy and wife, Mary, of Houma; one daughter, Lua Fanguy Hebert and husband Carroll of Oviedo, Fla.; one brother, Lawrence “Brother Daniel” Duplantis; 21 grandchildren, Sonya Cheney, Mark Olivier, Darren Olivier, Desmond Olivier, Ronnie Fanguy, Keith Fanguy, Stephen Fanguy, Emily Fanguy, Philip Fanguy, Kelly John Fanguy, Monica Kraemer, Jennifer Dugas, Stephanie Manson, Jason Griffin, Lacinda Stout, Christopher Fanguy, Michelle Fanguy, Andrew Fanguy, Daniel Fanguy, Jr., Brittany Roy and Tiffany Holder; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Fanguy; one daughter, Grace Olivier; her father, Kelly John Duplantis; and her mother, Emma Bergeron Duplantis.
She was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church and a member of the Legion of Mary, Catholic Daughters of America and Anawin.
Pallbearers will be Mark Olivier, Philip Fanguy, Carroll Hebert, Kelly John Fanguy and Daniel Fanguy Jr.
