Owen Phillip Breaux Sr., 86, a native of Ashland and resident of Montegut, died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by three sons, Owen P. Breaux Jr. and wife, Sandra, Rickie Breaux and wife, Amy, and Thomas Breaux and wife, Karen; three daughters, Sandra LeBlanc, Monica Gravois and husband, Stan, and Lena Authement and husband, John; one brother, LeRoy Breaux; three sisters, Rosalie Cretini, Bonna LeCompte and Genevieve Porche; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Falgout Breaux; his parents, Phillip and Linda Blanchard Breaux; one son, Kerry Breaux; one-son-in-law, Daniel LeBlanc; one brother, Clayton Breaux; and two sisters, Leona Breaux and Edna Falgout.
He was a longtime employee of the South Coast Sugar Corporation and was retired from the Drainage Department of Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government.
He was an usher at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut.
