Maria Elena Duplantis, 73, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015. She was a native of Tuscon, AZ and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and on Friday, May 29, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.. Burial: Garden of Memories Cemetery She is survived by her. parents, Jesus R. and Estela Dominguez Ojeda, husband of 53 years, Jerry “Gary” Duplantis, sons, Jerry “Chico” (Wanza) Duplantis and Rodney (Theresa) Duplantis, daughters, Deborah “Debbie” (Deron) Bourg, brother, Jesus Ojeda, Jr., sisters, Olga Reney, Oralia “Lali” Neman and Alicia Ojeda, grandchildren, Ashlee, Emilee, Kaitlyn and Brennon Duplantis, Brandon and Christopher Ruttley and Lauren Bourg, great-grandchildren, Adeline, Mary, and Noah Ruttley, Cohen Duplantis, Kole Achee’, Kodi Bourg and Jess LeCompte, Jr. She was preceded in death by her, daughter, Michelle Duplantis, brother, Hector Ojeda She was a member of Grand Caillou Baptist Church. Among Maria’s hobbies and interests were sewing, cooking, floral designing and jewelry making. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to the St. Jude Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the American Cancer Society at 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA 70121.
