Julie Catherine Chauvin, 81, died Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 09:15 AM. She was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, and on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 9:00 AM until funeral time at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A mass of Christian burial will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She is survived by her, sons, Ron Chauvin and Art Chauvin of Houma; daughters, Lisa Chauvin Mongrue and husband Roy of Baton Rouge and Maria Chauvin Hebert and husband Tommy of Houma; Grandchildren, Chelsie and Storm Chauvin; Trey, William, Julie, John and Thomas Mongrue; Austin, Alex and Ashley Hebert, Great Grandchild, Brody Walsh. She is also survived by her brother Dale A. Bienvenu of Houma and her dear friend Rene Chauvin of Houma. She leaves behind her beloved dog Patsy. She was preceded in death by her, husband, Myron William Chauvin; Parents, Francis Alexander Bienvenu and Gertrude Lapeyrouse Bienvenu and brother Carl F. Bienvenu. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Julie graduated Summa Cum Laude from Nicholls State University and pursued a teaching career in Terrebonne Parish. She furthered her education and became a certified librarian where she worked at St. Matthew's Episcopal School until her retirement. Julie was a devout Catholic. She was a talented artist and writer. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She never turned down a game of Scrabble. One of her greatest pleasures was cooking. Julie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be sadly missed.
