A.D. "Danny Martin", Jr. 89, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 09:39 PM. He was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 from 9:30am until 11:00am at Mulberry Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00am at Mulberry Baptist Church. Burial: Terrebonne Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Polly (Pauline); his sons, Dr. A.D. "Danny" Martin III, and wife Amy; David L. Martin and wife Connie; his daughter, Karen and husband Dr. Alan Weems, two grandchildren, John Weems and Katherine Weems and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Anatole and Agnes Matherne Martin, brothers, Dr. B. Joseph Martin, Herbert Martin, Robert Martin, Clyde Martin, Wesley Martin, sisters Mrs. Lucille Cox, Mrs. Maggie Bergeron, Mrs. Alice Fleming, Mrs. Yvonne Clark, Mrs. Dorothy Carreker, Sylvia Martin. He was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church. He was a longtime educational leader in Louisiana where he served for thirty-eight years as teacher, coach, principal, supervisor and counselor of parents and students; educational consultant for Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana, and the University of South Louisiana; and as consultant for the Louisiana State Department of Education. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mulberry Baptist Church at 2025 Bayou Black Drive, Houma Louisiana, 70360.
