Francis “Red” Joseph Detiveaux Sr., 87, a native of Bourg and resident of Chauvin, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Chauvin Detiveaux; four sons, Carl Detiveaux, Mark Detiveaux, Lynn Detiveaux and Lawrence Detiveaux; one daughter, Marla Stark; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Detiveaux Sr. and Marguerite Dubois; one son, Francis “Frankie” Detiveaux Jr.; one daughter, Sandra Detiveaux; and one brother, Dewey Detiveaux Jr.
He worked as a tankerman for Freeport Sulfur Company. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
