Ruby Giroir Roddy, 95, a native and resident of Houma, died at 12:02 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at 11:00A.M.at Annunziata Catholic Church. Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by one son, Nolan Roddy Jr. and wife, Marian, of Houma; four daughters, Yvonne Williams of Winter Park, Fla., Holyn Cole, Geraldine “Gerry” Hebert, and Mary Ann Callahan and husband, Theodore, of Houma; 15 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Joseph Roddy Sr.; one daughter, Nell Lyons; her parents, Joseph Giroir and Ida Mae Braud Giroir; two brothers, Nolan Giroir and Robert “Bob” Giroir; two sisters, Mildred Thibodeaux and Ida Mae Toups; and one great-grandchild, Kodie Cole.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church.
