Colden Adolphe Darcey, 93, a native of Lafourche Parish and resident of Bayou Blue, died at 4 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2008.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Louis Catholic Church. Prayer service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Samanie Darcey of Bayou Blue; one son, Glenn Darcey and wife, Sandy, of Bayou Blue; five daughters, Janice Daigle and husband, Randy, of Thibodaux, Ann Eschete and husband, Carl, Judith Seale and husband, Rob, of Houma, Gale Blanchard and husband, Ronald, of Raceland, and Enola Nussmeyer and husband, Steve, of St. Joseph, Ill.; one sister, Helen Thibodeaux of Bayou Blue; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Camille Darcey and Andresse Maronge Darcey; one great-great-grandson, Deantae Colden Rines; four brothers, Dewey, Albon, Harold and Donald Darcey; and five sisters, Manerva Langston, Orina Darcey, Elmira Porche, Anastasia Fonseca and Verna Samanie.
He was a retired self-employed farmer and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church.
