Jessie Duplantis Blanchard, 80, a native of Upper Little Caillou and resident of Houma, died at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Nauly Blanchard of Houma; three sons, Victor Blanchard and wife, Ruby, of Houston, Rodney Blanchard and wife, Connie, of Tuscon, Ariz., and Karl Blanchard of Houma; one daughter, Jana Decol and husband, Daniel, of Houma; one brother, Ronnie Duplantis of Little Caillou; one sister, Jeanne Martin of Houma; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Xavier Duplantis and Cornelia Pellegrin Duplantis; one daughter, Lane Dorsey; and one grandson, U.S. Army Sgt. Dustin Decol.
She was a homemaker, a loving wife, a great grandmother and the best Maw Maw ever.
She was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church.
