Belle Theresa Chauvin Matherne

Belle Theresa Chauvin Matherne, 75, a native and resident of Chauvin, died at 2 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by one daughter, Linda LeBlanc and husband, Nelson, of Houma; two brothers, James Chauvin and Paul Chauvin of Houma; three sisters, Gloria Porche, Molly Boudreaux and Mary Ann Boudreaux of Houma; one grandchild, Neal LeBlanc and wife, Ta Chel; and three grandchildren, Chad, Eric and Owen LeBlanc. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Matherne Jr.; and her parents, Connely J. Chauvin and Theresa Champagne Chauvin. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Church.
