Ernest "Chullie" Crochet, a life long resident of Crochetville passed away on December 8, 2014 at 88 years of age. Ernest was born on June 6, 1926 in Terrebonne Parish and was the son of the late James "Jimmy" Crochet and Alexina Price Crochet. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Ernest was married on June 27, 1954 to the love of his life Alexina "Tina" Rodrigue Crochet, with whom he spent 60 wonderful years. He is survived by his wife Alexina and his sons Ernie and wife Cynthia Pellegrin Crochet, and his sons Barney and James Crochet. Ernest's living siblings are his sister Gertie C. Johnson and brother Joseph "T-Nook" Crochet. Ernest is also survived by his grandchildren Christina, Christopher, James Jr., Grant and Cammy Crochet and Jenna Lebeouf, and his three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brothers Walter "Bud", Wilcliff "Nich", Paul "T-Paul", and Henry Crochet, and his sisters Josephine "Poolou" C. Bourg, Beatrice "Bea" C. Trahan, Rose "T-Rose" C. Bourg, and Shirley Mae C. Smith and daughter in law Theresa "Teetsie" LeBeouf. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Ernest's fondest memories are the summer days he would spend with his wife in the New Orleans French Quarter eating beignets and sharing conversation in Cajun French. His professional life began by working for Texaco, where he ultimately learned his trade and became a self employed boat Captain performing contract work for Texaco. Ernest Crochet's caring, good natured and loving soul will be remembered forever and will be missed.
