Linda Lucille Carlos Warren, 75, native and resident of Houma, died surrounded by family at her home at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, after years of enduring cancer.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church on Corporate Drive. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
She is survived by her son, John Sidney Warren and wife, Loma Claire, of Houma; daughters, Susan Marie Warren, of Lafayette, and Ann Michelle Poole and husband, Daniel Christopher, of Houma; grandchildren, Lindsey Claire Warren, Chelsey Elizabeth Warren, Phoebe Clara, Hannah Marie, Abbie Zoe, and Jack Sidney Poole, Gian Paolo Monteleon and Emilie Claire Joller.
She was widowed in 1985 by the death of her husband, Dr. Sidney H. Warren Jr. She was also preceded in death by her son, David Michael; parents, Lindsey Antoine "Jack" Carlos and Clara Boudreaux Carlos; and sister and husband, Carolyn and Gerald "Tut" Pellegrin.
After graduating from St. Francis de Sales Girls' High School, she earned an education degree from Dominican and a master's degree from Loyola University. She taught civics and home economics in New Orleans schools during her husband's residency. Linda was a longtime Eucharistic minister for Maria Immacolata parish, and for years served in various support capacities at Maria Immacolata School when her children were students there. The joys of her life in her widowed decades were her children and grandchildren, her extensive travels and her faithful friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
