Ronald “Ronnie” Francis Guidry, 66, a native of Houma, Louisiana and longtime resident of Orlando, Florida, passed away Sunday, August 24th after a long, courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.
Visitation will be Wednesday August 27, 2014 from 9:30 am until funeral time at Saint Francis de Sales Cathedral. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 am Wednesday at the church with interment following in Saint Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his former wife, Suzy Higginbotham Guidry; son, Aaron Ray Guidry; daughters, Jayme Guidry Schneider and husband, Robert, Lesley Guidry Rodic and husband, James; grandchildren, Olivia, Ansley, Derek, and Emery; brother, Michael Guidry and his wife Bernita; sisters, Jeanie Guidry Picou and her husband, Danny, Cathy Guidry Clement and her husband, Rene, and Anne Guidry Bourgeois and her husband, Freddy. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Francis Guidry and his mother, Claire Lehman Guidry.
He was a veteran of the US Navy during the Vietnam War and served on the USS Enterprise. He was a graduate of Nicholls State University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He and his wife, Suzy, relocated to Orlando, Florida, where he had an accomplished career in accounting. His love, generosity, sense of humor and zest for life will be sorely missed by all of those who loved him.
