Ethelyn Marie Luquette Chenier Ethelyn Marie Luquette Chenier, 83, a native of Lutcher and resident of Houma, died at 8:55 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2014. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Chauvin Funeral Home. Prayer service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by one son, Henry Chenier Jr. and wife, Barbara; two daughters, Diane Vito and companion, Dennis LeBeouf, and Suzanne Cummins and husband, Allan; eight grandchildren, Chad Bridges and wife, Wendy, Duane Chenier and wife, Melissa, James Lirette Jr. and wife, Lindsay, Sheri Miller and husband, Jobie, Jeffrey Chenier and wife Katherine, Jeremy Chenier and fiancé Leslie, Christie Pellegrin and husband, Beau, and Joey Chenier and wife Jill; and fourteen great-grandchildren, Troy Chenier, Amber Chenier, Alyssa Miller, Chase Bridges, Keegan Pellegrin, Mackenzie Bridges, Colt Lirette, Gavin Pellegrin, Hanna Miller, Conner Chenier, Madison Chenier, Ryker Pellegrin, Rylee Chenier, Maya Lirette. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Henry Chenier Sr.; her parents, Sylvere and Odile Haydel Luquette; one sister, Angeles Luquette Perret; three brothers, Larry Luquette, Sylvere Luquette Jr., and Clifford Luquette. The family would like to thank the staffs of the Terrebonne House and Haydel Memorial Hospice for their care and compassion during the time they cared for Ms. Ethelyn. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
