Takeko Iida Koike, 86, a native of Hawaii and resident of Houma, died at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Houma. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Hideo Koike, Ph.D.; one daughter, Donna Y. Koike Bourg and husband, Jeffery Bourg; two sons, Edgar Koike and Kevin Koike and wife, Lori Koike; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Chiyo Iida, Jane Toyoko Iida Manago, Laura Masuko Iida Miho; and two
brothers, Richard Mizu Iida and Robert Shoji Iida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Koichi Iida and Nobu Shima Iida; and three sisters, Yoshiko Iida Nishimoto, Fusayo Iida Tomoda and Mitsugo Iida.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Houma, having served as coordinator of the communion stewardesses and stewards for many
years. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Women. Her work career included Sears, First National Bank and Hibernia Bank. Her favorite pastimes were sewing, line dancing and cooking.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a dear friend who touched the lives of many and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
