Mildred Duplantis Osborn, 83, a native and resident of Chauvin, died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Richard Osborn Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Houma; one sister, Karen Duplantis Verdin of Gray; two grandchildren, James Paul Osborn and Victoria Marie Osborn; two great-grandchildren, Sierra Hunter and Zachary East; her nieces and nephews, Alfred Duplantis, Myra D. Stoufflet, Michelle Schexnayder Boudreaux, Shannon Schexnayder Pellegrin and Jaime Schexnayder; and 10 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Osborn Sr.; her parents, Joseph “Neg” Duplantis and Victoria Chauvin Duplantis; one brother, Numa Duplantis; and one sister-in-law, Marlin Duplantis Neil.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church
