Funeral services will be held at a 10:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday , June 7, 2014 in the Cathedral of St. Francis de Sales for Oliver Henry LeBlanc, Sr. , 77, who died May 31, 2014 at 2:08 pm in Houma, Louisiana.
The family requests that visitation be held at Chauvin Funeral Home of Houma on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A Rosary will be led by Verdie Ann Breaux on Friday at 6:30 P.M. in the funeral home.
Reverend Joshua Rodrigue, Priest of St. Francis de Sales will be the celebrant.
Interment will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery II immediately following the Services.
Oliver LeBlanc, Sr., was the son of Felix Louis LeBlanc and the former Louise Berges of New Iberia. He was married for 54 years to Terryellen Bennett LeBlanc of New Orleans and they were residents of Houma, Louisiana for 43 years.
He was a graduate of Loyola University with a Doctorate of Pharmacy. Oliver began his career as the owner and operator of Professional pharmacy in Franklin Louisiana for 10 years then was employed by Eli Lilly and Company for 27 years. He was a registered pharmacist for more than 50 years. He volunteered regularly at the St. Vincent de Paul Pharmacy, was a member of the Krewe of Terreanians, the Rotary Club of Franklin, the Knights of Columbus and the Air Force Reserve. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and reader. His zest for life; always finding the humor in situations; kept everyone around him laughing. He lived for the love of family and God.
Survivors include two daughters, Andre LeBlanc Roberts and her husband John of Richardson, Texas and Phyllis LeBlanc Peoples and her husband Michael of Houma; one son, Oliver Henry LeBlanc Jr. and his wife Cathy of Atlanta, Georgia; nine grandchildren, David Oliver Roberts (wife Brittany), Matthew Louis Roberts, Kenner Baetjer Roberts, Charles Harrison Roberts, Jacob LeBlanc Peoples, Mitchell Bennett Peoples, Jessica Marie LeBlanc, Amanda Nicole LeBlanc, and Oliver Harrison LeBlanc; two brothers Felix LeBlanc, Jr. and wife Carleen of Lafayette, Thomas LeBlanc and wife LeeAnn of Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
