Christine Elizabeth Ledet Hamner, 51, died Saturday, May 31, 2014. She was a native of Chauvin, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 9:00 AM until Service time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Interment: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 She is survived by her, Husband, Clyde Hamner, Daughter, Claire Elizabeth Hamner, Siblings, Ragis Ledet, Jr, and wife Grace, Brenda Lugo and husband Gus, Joann Ledet and Glen Verrett, Phyllis Salter, Sam Ledet and wife Lisa, Wayne Ledet and wife Brandy, Jules Ledet and wife Debbie, Lydia Alleman and husband Ray and Troy Ledet and wife Ellen, Mother in law, Velma Hamner, Brothers and sisters in law, Mike and Robbin Hamner, Gordon and Nancy Hamner, Dickie and Sue Hamner, Alice and Darryl Brien, Kenny and Laurie Hamner and Catherine and Eddie Guilbeau, She was preceded in death by her, Parents, Ragis Joseph Ledet, Sr and Rheta Chauvin Ledet She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Christine was a retired teacher with Terrebonne Parish School Board. She began her career at South Terrebonne High School in 1984. Christine also worked with students in the hospital/homebound program. She was an inspirational teacher of the year at Southdown School at the onset of the TFAE program. After retirement she became a GED test administrator with the adult education program. Christine was a strong, enthusiastic, courageous woman. Her will to never give up was beyond measure. Determined to live, always ready to fight for her life no matter how hard the battle became. She will always be remembered for her will and strength throughout her entire life.
