Kearney “Bobby” Arthur Mahler, 84, a native of Chackbay and resident of Houma, died at 9:07 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at First United Methodist Church. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park. He is survived by his wife, Mary Halley Mahler of Houma; his first wife, Lucinda Marie Leeder; one son, Al Mahler and wife, Lee Mahler of Houma; two daughters, Susan Oncale and husband, Dennis, and Nancy Davis and husband, Doug, of Houma; six grandchildren, Monique Wright, Michelle Verret, Natalie Guidry, Nikki Guidry, Mark Guidry Jr. and Whitney Mahler; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alidore Mahler and Henrietta Chaisson Mahler; one daughter, Jennifer Mahler Deligans;former wife, Hilda Arceneaux Mahler; and one brother, Butley Mahler Sr. He was a retired furrier with Mahler Inc. and a professional bowler. He graduated from, McCalla Military School in Chattanooga, TN, attended; Tulane University and Spencer Business College in New Orleans. He was a Veteran of World War II where he served in the Burma China India Theatre. He was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
