Cecilia Scarabin Fitzgerald, 67, a native of Port Sulphur and resident of Houma, died at 1:35 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2008. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by her former husband, John Fitzgerald of Houma; two sons, Michael Fitzgerald and wife, Diane, and Allan Fitzgerald and wife, Rushelle, of Houma; one daughter, Sheryl Buquet and husband, Jerry Buquet, of Houma; three brothers, Earl Scarabin and wife, Donna, Brian Scarabin and wife, Sue, and Kenneth Scarabin and wife, Marie; five sisters, Earline Wright and husband, Wayne, Susan Buras and husband, Kenneth, Ronda Ragas and husband, Richard, Marla Giglio and husband, Barry, and Cathy Mertz and husband, Billy; one brother-in-law, Walter Jenkins; six grandchildren, Brandy LeBoeuf, Jamie Buquet, Jeremy Fitzgerald, Kevin Fitzgerald, Shawn Fitzgerald and Erin Fitzgerald; and four great-grandchildren, Peyton LeBoeuf, Callie Buquet, Bradley Fitzgerald and Ethan Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Scarabin and Leodille Zeringue Scarabin; one great-grandchild, Lilly Martin; one brother, Donald Scarabin; and one sister, Lorraine Jenkins. She was a retired clerical with Fitzgerald Inspection. The family would like to give special thanks to Terrebonne General CCU unit, nurses and staff and special thanks to Dr. Russell Henry. She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
