Lita Rita LeCompte, 89, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 05:45 PM. She was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 8:00 AM until Service time at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Interment: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She is survived by her, Children, Stephen G. LeCompte and wife Patsy, Dennis J. LeCompte and wife Sarah, Meridy A. Liner and husband Randy, Nettie M. Prejean and husband David, 21 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren, Brother, Curtis Hebert, and Sister, Iris Blevons. She was preceded in death by her, Husband, Paul "JP" Joseph LeCompte, Parents, August Hebert and Effie Rhodes Hebert, Son, Paul J. LeCompte, and Daughter, Evelyn C. Autin. She was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Lita enjoyed sewing and quilting and she loved her flowers. She will be remembered as the snowball lady on gum street and selling her handmade baby clothes and quilts at Southdown Marketplace. She was the longest surviving member of Camp Bluebird. Lita also loved to spoil her grandchildren.
