Helen Ann Hebert Martin, 70, a native and resident of Houma, died 4:11 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2008.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Tuesday at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial to follow in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, J.C. Martin of Houma; two sons, Jody Paul Martin and wife, Christy, and Jonathan Wendell Martin and wife, Ginger, of Houma; two daughters, Jill Angela Barnhill and husband, Brian, and Patti Martin Cordell and husband, Don, of Houma; one brother, Steve Hebert, and wife, Helen, of Houma; one sister-in-law, Faye Hebert of Houma; seven grandchildren, Lacy Martin, Lauren Martin, Lindsey Martin, Jordyn Martin, Jena Bergeron, Courtney Dyson and husband, Tommy, Justin Breaux and wife, Britney; and five great grandchildren, Luke, Camryn and Emily Dyson, Isabella Breaux, and Alex Gonzales.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alidore Hebert and Olivia Lirette Hebert; one brother, Gilbert Hebert; and one sister, Belle Bruce.
She was a homemaker, a member of the Krewe of Hyacinthians, Eastern Star, an avid gardener and a parishioner at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. She was a
great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
