Douglas Paul Bodmer, died May 11, 2014 at 12:10 PM. He was a native of Mendota, IL and resident of Gibson, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 9:00am to 11:00am at St. Lawrence Catholic Church . Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Burial: St Patricks Cemetery. He is survived by his, Spouse of 27 years: Ann Melancon Bodmer, Sons: Douglas K. Donnelly and wife Lisa, Jerry LeBlanc Jr. and wife Iris, Anthony LeBlanc Sr. and companion Dena, Don LeBlanc, and David LeBlanc Sr. and wife Jen, Daughters: Tanya Swindle, Beth Fischer and companion Eric, Katrina Fischer, and Mary Beth Pearce and husband Robert Sr., Brothers: Duane Bodmer, Bill Bodmer, Den Bodmer, Eugene Bodmer, Sisters: Candy Riegle and husband Gene, and Barbara Smith and husband Harley, He is survived by twenty two grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his, Parents: Wayne and Rita Brown Bodmer, Grandson: Zackary LeBlanc, He was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Douglas was a veteran of the United States Army who served in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
