He was 89 years young; he lived through the depression; served in the U.S Army as a medic in a field hospital in Burma during WWII; worked as a pumper at Bay St. Elaine, for Texaco for 34 years-retired and pursued a love for genealogy and gardening. He was a member of the Terrebonne Genealogy Society. He could trace his Cajun family roots to 1785 and the boats they came over on. When he met you, after learning a little bit about your family, he could tell you who you were related to and how far back he could trace your family. He married Merian Fontana Henry, a teacher, and raised two educated children, a lawyer who married a lawyer, and a teacher who married a teacher. His four grandchildren were his greatest blessing. He served God, he served his country and he served his family. His one wish was that God would let him live long enough to provide for his children and watch them grow up. Well Dad, I think you got your wish! You will be forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to the United Veterans League of Houma (350 S. Van Ave. Houma, LA 70363) or the Regional Military Museum (1154 Barrow St Houma, LA 70360), two organizations that were very dear to his heart.
