Raymond Paul Bergeron Sr., 73, a native and resident of Houma, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his former wife, Marie Claire Blanchard; his companion, Rose Crochet; one son, Raymond "Skip" Bergeron Jr. and wife, Connie, of Chackbay; four daughters, Vicky Blanchard and husband, Albert, of Houma, Jan Duplantis and husband, Elwin, of Houma, Laurie Pontiff of Houma, and Mona Hebert and husband, M.J., of Montegut; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Boudreaux; and his mother, Eula Mae Bergeron Boudreaux.
He was a dispatcher at Frank’s Casing Crew and a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
He was a member of the Krewe of Kajuns, loved fishing and spending time at his camp. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
