Weldon John Savoie, Sr., 84, died Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 09:00 AM. He was a native of Houma, LA and longtime resident of Bourg, LA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. Ann Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at St. Ann Catholic Church.
Burial will follow at St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his
Wife of 43 years, Ruby Hebert Savoie, Montegut, LA,
son, Weldon John Savoie, II and wife Elena,
daughters, Judith Farmer and husband James, Jodith Savoie, Deborah Savoie,
Grandchildren, Shelly Savoie, Shannon Jakabosky, Hayley and Hannah Savoie, Troy and Mitchell Matherne, Casie and Brook Boutte,
Nine great grandchildren,
brother, Carroll Savoie.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Abel Anthony Savoie and Stella Roger Savoie,
brother, Irvin (Do-Do) Joseph Savoie and
sister, Joyce Savoie Talbot.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retiree of Union Oil Co. after 34 years of service. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and kindness.
He was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Cinnater and staff, Bayou Home Care and all the compassionate physicians and nurses at Terrebonne General Hospital who cared for him throughout his long battle with diabetes. They are also grateful for the wonderful friends and neighbors who lent a hand.
