Don Hamner Coyle, 89, born in Springhill, LA and a longtime resident of Houma, LA went to his eternal rest on February 16, 2014.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 20 at Chauvin Funeral Home from 6 - 8 PM. A graveside burial service will be held on Friday February 21 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
Don is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Pearl Marcello Coyle; brothers Odell Coyle and Louis Coyle; sister Jeanie Wedgeworth; and son-in-law George Roden.
He is survived by his sons Randy Coyle and wife Claire, Gregory Coyle and wife Michelle; daughters Mary Roden, and Marcella England and husband Steve; grandchildren Chris Coyle and wife Amanda, Courtney Coyle and Catherine Coyle; great grandchildren Wyatt and Gracie Coyle; brother Kenneth Coyle and sister Peggy Holley.
He was a Lieutenant in the US Navy during World War II and served 18 years in the Naval Reserve. He worked most of his career in the oil & gas service industry.
Don and his wife Pearl was a resident of Houma LA for 53 years until moving to Galveston, TX in 2001. During his later years, he enjoyed riding his golf cart around the neighborhood and on the beach in Galveston. He was a man who lived life to the fullest and was a friend to all.
