Mabel Voisin Champagne, 94, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Annunziata Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Robert Champagne and wife, Barbara, of Lafayette, Larry Champagne and wife, Bonnie, of Thibodaux and Stephen Champagne and wife, Suzanne, of New Orleans; three daughters, Juliette Henry and husband, Willis, Gloria Authement and husband, Larry, of Houma and Kathleen LeBlanc and husband, Wayne, of Thibodaux; one son-in-law, Murphy Breaux of Houma; one brother, Wilson Voisin Sr. of Dularge; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Lawrence J. Champagne; her parents, Leonce A. Voisin and Pauline LeBouef Voisin; one daughter, Melva Breaux; six brothers, Albert, Calvin, Eustis, James, Norris and Julius Voisin; and two sisters, Vivian LaCoste and Eva R. Voisin.
She was a homemaker, a former member of Republic Women’s Organization, Homemakers Club and Ladies Altar Society.
She was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church.
