Joseph Paul Labit

Joseph "Joe" Paul Labit, 59, a native of Houma and resident of Bayou Blue, died at 2:24 a.m. Sunday, May 18, 2008. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel. He is survived by his wife, Gail Miguez Labit of Bayou Blue; three sons, David Labit and wife, Anna, of Gibson, Danny Labit and Darrell Labit of Bayou Blue; two daughters, Trudy Babin and husband, Tommy, of Schriever, Theresa Verdin and husband, Ryan, of Ocean Springs, Miss.; five brothers, Ralph Labit and wife, Dianne, of Bayou Blue, Roy Labit and wife, Elaine, of Arkansas, Francis Labit and wife, Olivia, Philip Labit and wife, Arlene, of Houma, and Larry Labit and wife, Patty, of Tennessee; one sister, Betty Labit Steele of Houma; eight grandchildren; and numerous relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Paul Labit and Marie DuBois Labit Breaux; three brothers, Leon "Junior" Labit, Davis Labit and Johnny Labit; and one sister, Gloria Labit Gaston. He was owner of Paradise D.J.’s and a U.S. Navy veteran.
