"O.J." Hurst, Sr., 80, died Saturday, August 24, 2013. He was a native of Osyka, Ms and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 6:00PM-9:00PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 9:00AM-11:00AM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11:00AM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Burial: Terrebonne Memorial Park He is survived by his, wife, Wanda B. Hurst sons, Oscar "Jimmy" Hurst Jr.(Debbie), Herman Chad Hurst (Sandra), and Jody Hurst (Lisa), daughter, Holly Hurst Caballero (Danny), sister, Anna Mae Hurst Savoy, and Dorothy Hurst Fuori, step daughter, Shirley Kufel (Ralph) grandchildren, Jill Hurst, Cullen Caballero, Kelly Caballero Duplantis, Christy Hurst, Chad Linton Hurst, Destin Hurst, Ryan Hurst, Megan Hurst, Katelyn Hurst, Gabrielle Kimble,and Danielle Kimble, step grandchildren, Benjamin Kufel great grandchildren, Sage Hurst, Caden Hurst, Leland Vito, Alysse Duplantis, Laryn Duplantis, and Mia Caballero. He was preceded in death by his, wife, Hilda Domangue Hurst father, Thomas Linton "TL" Hurst, Sr. mother, Julia Harrell Hurst brothers, Thomas "Tommy" Linton Hurst, Jr. and sister, Joyce Hurst McComb. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Houma. He served in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He worked for McDermott and retired after 32 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed family gatherings.
