Shirley Marie Adam Dillard, 89, died at 7:37 p.m. Thursday Aug. 22, 2013, surrounded by family. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Saturday at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by her children, Mary Lee Dillard Smith and husband, Tommy R. Smith of Dallas, Texas, Lee Dennis Dillard III, of Houma, Ann Dillard Talbot, of Katy, Texas, and Hope Mary Dillard, of Houma; grandchildren, Amamda Smith Travis, Brandon Michael Smith, Lee Dennis Dillard IV, Julie Dillard Nolfo, Alexis Talbot Swartley and Richard E. Talbot III; and great-grandchildren, Robert Thomas Swartley Jr., Brayden Lee Dillard, Jack Riley Travis, Tristan Michael Nolfo and Scarlet Elisabeth Travis. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Adam; mother, Thelma Riviere Adam; daughter, Carol Ann Dillard; and sisters, Beverly Adam Cunningham and Thelma "Skeets" Adam. She was a special lady and a loving mother. She was a devoted, loving wife to the late Dennis Dillard Jr. for 25 years. She worked for Texaco Inc. for 20 years as a receptionist, secretary and clerk. She loved to read, play cards and take care of her family. She loved to visit and take trips especially to Las Vegas. She and her husband, Lee, were some of the founding members of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Russell Henry and staff for all the years of care. They would also like to thank Haydel's Hospice, her caregiver, Jessica Voisin, for caring and loving her like she was her own mother, and all the wonderful and loving people from Homestead Assisted Living who were with her and the family until the end.
