Kenneth Louis Brunet, 60, a native of Houma and resident of Oden, Ark., died Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Wednesday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma. Liturgy of the Word will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial in St. Bridget Catholic Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, Matthew Brunet and wife, Amber, of Jena; grandson, Conner Brunet, of Jena; mother, Irma Brunet, of Schriever; sisters, Katherine "Kat" Smith and husband, William "Bill," of Schriever, Cheryl Ann Barnes and husband, Kenneth "Kenny," of Houma, and Virginia "Jenny" Brunet and husband, Raymond, of Schriever; brother, Lawrence "Larry" Brunet and wife Joyce of Shelby, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Louis Brunet; brother, Gerald Brunet; sister, Dorthy "Dot" Massey; and his long time travel companion, Maggie, his black lab of 15 years.
Kenneth loved photography, traveling, gardening, nature, hiking, sight seeing and cooking. He had an interest in self reliant living and a lifelong passion for riding motorcycles. He was often comical and could usually be seen with a big smile on his face.
