Leroy "Larry" Joseph Braud, 72, a native and resident of Houma, died at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2008.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his loving companion and caregiver, Philomena Blanchard of Houma; one son, David Michael Braud of Houma; four daughters, Sally Anne Savoie and husband, Eric, of Bourg, Donna Braud Breaux, Debby Braud Fakier of Houma and Deirdre "DeeDee" Braud DeHart and husband, Lance, of Raceland; one stepson, Larry Blanchard of Houma; two stepdaughters, Beverly S. Kreisel of Warsaw, Mo., and Linda Krueger of Austin, Texas; four brothers, Richard Braud and wife, Brenda, E.J. Braud and wife, Maxine, Donnie Braud and wife, Julie, of Houma, and Bert Braud and wife, Mona, of Baton Rouge; one sister, Judy Braud Callais and husband, Donald, of Houma; nine grandchildren, Lacie Breaux LeBlanc, Elizabeth Savoie, Eric Savoie Jr., Amanda Fakier, John David Braud, Krista Votolato, Mercedes Duplantis, and Luke and Adam DeHart; and one great-granddaughter on the way.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally Ann Stoufflet Braud; his parents, Edward Joseph Braud Jr. and Julia Bergeron Braud; and one brother, Melvin P. Braud.
He was a retired salesman with LCR and a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
