Charles "Chuck" Wilbert Soileau Sr., a native of Ville Platte and resident of Houma, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Rita Morello Soileau of Houma; two sons, Charles "Chuck" Soileau Jr. and Michael Soileau and companion, Melissa, of Houma; three grandchildren, Brittany and Trever Soileau and Kimberly Soileau Darden; and two great-grandchildren, Ariel and Tanner Soileau.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Jone Soileau; his parents, Numa Soileau and Bernadette Campbell Soileau; one son, Daniel Craig Soileau; and one sister, Myrna Hickman.
He was a retired major with Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office and a U.S. Federal Marshall in Houma.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Woodmen of the World, a member of the Knights of Columbus, disabled veteran of Foreign Wars, the National Rifle Association, the Louisiana Peace Officer’s Association, the St. Joseph’s Italian Society and Terrebonne Sportsman’s League.
He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
