Merill Lirette

Merill Ellender Lirette, 78, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 7:30 PM. She was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery in Bourg. She is survived by her sons, Dr. David Lirette and wife Theresa, Dr. Ronald Lirette and wife Renee, grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah, Phillip, Victoria, Brittney, Daniel, great grandchildren, Nathan, Emma, Sophia, Jenna, brother, Leo Ellender, sister, Alice Redmond and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Joseph Lirette, parents, Paul Ellender and Stella Lirette Ellender, grandchildren, Brandon Lala, brothers, Anthony Ellender, Bernard Ellender, sister, Elise Labat. She was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Merill was an amazing cook, artist/craftswoman, seamstress and gardener. She loved to watch her backyard erupt in flowers and to share her bounty with everyone. She cherished the country life and spent her best years roaming the coastal marshes with Nolan and her boys. Her greatest passion in life was her beloved husband and it provides us great comfort to know they are in each other's arms again in the marshes and beaches of heaven. They will save us a spot.
