Ethel Marcel Babin, 89, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 10:50 AM. She was a native of Houma, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Saturday, July 13, 2013 from 8:00am to 10:00am at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10:00AM at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Burial: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She is survived by her, Son: Larry Babin and wife Ginny, Daughters: Elaine Pontiff and husband Kerry,and Christine Dupre and husband Don, Brothers: Junel Marcel, Louis Marcel, Norman Marcel and Kurt Marcel, Sisters: Rita Mae Porche, Louise Porche and Alice Clark, Grandchildren: Stuart Babin, Rachael Yesso, Mandy Fernandez, Sandy Freeman and Great Grandchildren: Brooklynn Babin, Jadyn Yesso, Vivian and Lana Fernandez, Logan, Paisley, and Jaxon Freeman. She was preceded in death by her, Spouse: Adam Babin, Parents: Sullivan and Louise Molaison Marcel, Brother: Russell Marcel and Sister: Hazel Filce. She was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. She was in the Lions Club, worked at the Food Bank, and she was in the Legion of Mary, and the Silver Sneakers Clubs. The family would like to thank Heritage Manor and South Louisiana Hospice. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
