Wilson Paul Voisin, Jr., 65, a resident of Bayou Dularge and parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church died approximately 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 9:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 1:00 PM at St. Eloi Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Eloi Catholic Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Charlotte Champagne Voisin, five children; Tonia and husband Timothy J. Guidry, Toby and wife Darla Lirette Voisin, Jennie and husband Scott Ancar, Chantelle and husband Slade Lovell, Elizabeth and husband Darrin Lirette, twelve grandchildren; Tori Lynn Guidry(22), Katelyn Guidry (12), Whitney Voisin(15), Emily Voisin(12), Jacob Voisin(8), Malcolm LaCoste, III(14), Rita Claire Ancar(1), Brooke Lovell(14), Bree Lovell(10), Darrin Lirette, Jr.(10), Mitchell Lirette(8) and Ian Lirette(1), sisters; Mary Linda Martinez, Maxine Theriot and Jo Ann Hidding.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson Voisin, Sr. and Annie Laura Voisin.
Wilson was the founder of Wilson’s Oysters, Inc. and a leader in the oyster industry, having served on the Louisiana Oyster Task Force for several years. He was one of several generations to carry on the oyster industry, a legacy that is continued by his children. He will be dearly missed.
