Omar Hopkins

Omar A. (Hop) Hopkins Jr., 88, a native of Olla and resident of Houma passed away June 22, 2013. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Paulette Hopkins, of Houma; children Vickie Hopkins Nelson of Texas, Simone Hopkins Taylor of Georgia, Linda N. Greenburg of Houma, Jack D. Nicholas of Abita, Springs; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Hop was a longtime employee with Placid Oil Company. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Houma Shrine Club.
