Louis Ray Ponville, 77, a native and resident of Houma, LA, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at 12:45 AM. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 11:00 AM until Service Time at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 1:30 PM at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral . Interment: St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2 He is survived by his, loving Wife of 57 years, Mercedes Blanchard Ponville, 3 children; one son, Steven "Steve" Ponville, 2 Daughters, Karen and husband Doug Bruce and Cheryl and husband Gregg Denniss, 6 Grandchildren, Donny Boudreaux of Shreveport, David and Josh Ponville of Houma, Brittany and Brooke Denniss of Houston, TX, Patricia Ponville of Atlanta, GA, 3 Great grandchildren, D.J. McKinley, Brock Bergeron of Houma and Emily Ponville of Atlanta, GA. One Sister, Brenda Malbrough 2 Brothers, Reynold Ponville, and Freddie "F.J." Ponville all of Houma. He was preceded in death by his, Parents, Friedman J. Ponville and Lillian Vidal Ponville, Brother, Leonce Ponville,and Sister, Ethel Sevin. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He was retired from the oilfield after 46 years. He served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1955 to 1961. He was a very devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
