Noelie Womack

Noelie Rita Mire Womack, 91, died Friday, June14, 2013 at 8:16 a. m. She was native of Thibodaux, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be on Monday, June 17 at Saint Francis de Sales Cathedral from 9:00 a. m. until funeral mass at 11:00 a. m. Burial will be at Saint Joseph Co- Cathedral Cemetery later Monday afternoon. She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, James T. Womack, Sr., 5 children; Sue Ganier and husband Gary, James “Sandy” Womack, Jr. and wife Donna, Martha Culotta and husband Phil, Mark Womack and wife Debbie, and Douglas Womack. The surviving 8 grandchildren are Matthew Ganier and wife Jill, Benjamin Ganier, Samuel Ganier and fiancé Jaime, Robin Dollarhide and husband John, Joshua Womack, Krissen Womack, Michael Womack and fiancé Kathryn and Christopher Womack. Her 2 surviving great grandchildren are Sadie and Layne Ganier. Her sisters Jerry Braud, Ida Boudreaux and Deanna Kittle from Thibodaux also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry Dominic Mire and Ida Kern Mire, sisters Lois Bergeron and Merlin Toups and brother Harry “Butsy” Mire, Jr. She was a retired teacher from Saint Joseph Elementary School in Thibodaux. Lee, as her friends knew her, had an unending zest for life and never met a stranger. Her hobbies included cooking for her family and friends, playing bridge and traveling. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Terrebonne Parish Special Olympics, 6252 Longwood Lane, Houma, LA 70364.
