John "Johnny" Ernest Foolkes, 86, a native of Reserve and resident of Houma, died at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 1.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Robicheaux Foolkes of Houma; two daughters, Dawn Harper and husband, Tom, of Salado, Texas, and Johnnie Jo "Jody" Blanchard and husband, Carey, of Lewisville, Texas; two sisters, Helena Word of Austin, Texas, and May LeBoeuf of Houma; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund John Foolkes and Blanche Chauvin Foolkes; one stepson, Gerry Hicks; and two sisters, Marie Hamilton and Blanche Herron.
He was a retired radio communication specialist with Hamilton Radio and a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was the first King with the Krewe of Houmas.
He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
