Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 8:00 AM until Service time at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 12:00 PM at Chauvin Funeral Home. Burial: Garden of Memories Cemetery. He is survived by his, Sons, Sidney Troy Purdy and wife Darlene E. Purdy of Meridian, MS and Michael Kenneth Freeman and wife Marilyn F. Freeman of Prairieville, LA, 6 Grandchildren, 8 Great grandchildren, Sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Desidier, Pearl Stevens and Shirley Purdy, Brother, Herbert Otis Purdy Sidney Troy Purdy, Meridian , MS Michael Kenneth Freeman, Prairieville, LA He was preceded in death by his, Wife, Alcide Rella "Pat" Barr Purdy, Parents, William Sidney Purdy and Celia T Purdy, Sister, Eloise Purdy and Margaret Purdy, and Brother, Ronnie Purdy. Charles was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He served as a special deputy for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office and was the Director of Security at LUMCON for 20 years.
