Debra Susan Nelson Petrie

Debra Susan Nelson Petrie, 49, a native of Omaha, Neb., and resident of Houma, died at 3:21 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by her husband, Eric C. Petrie of Houma; her parents, Raymond Nelson and Barbara Watson Nelson of Fremont, Neb.; one son, Derick Glenn Petrie of Houma; one daughter, Sarah Jean Petrie of Houma; and two brothers, Steven Nelson of Omaha and William "Bill" Nelson of Fremont. She was a certified registered nurse with Terrebonne General Medical Center and a member of Nosotros Support Group. To all who cared for and loved Deb we say thank you. A life filled with giving and of love she was touched by many. To know her was to love her and we thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. In lieu of flowers, due to her commitment to life donations to local right to life chapters would be appreciated. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
