Verna Stagni Chauvin, 84, died, Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 4:45 PM. She was a native and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 9:00 AM until service time at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2. She is survived by her two sons, Lionel "Boo" Chauvin and wife Pansy, Paul Chauvin and wife Jackie, of Houma, LA, four daughters, Stella Chauvin Brown, Houma, LA, Theresa Portier and husband Chuck, Lafeyette, LA, Anna Beth Trahan and husband Evest "Junior", Houma, LA and Sharon Bilbo, Houma, LA, one sister, Evelyn Scalfi, DeRidder, LA, 10 grandchildren, Francesca Wimprine, Trisha Portier, Ryan Chauvin, Christopher Chauvin, Anna MacMorran, Erin Newman, Charles Portier, III, Courtney Chauvin, Seth Bilbo and Candace Chauvin, great grandchildren, Audrey, Isabella, Lance, Lea, Lily and Brody. She was preceeded in death be her husband, Lionel "Snow" Chauvin, parents, D.J. and Stella Stagni, brother, Roy Stagni, Sr. She was a prishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. The family would like to thank Jill with Hospice of South Louisiana.
