Helen Matherne, 85, died Saturday, March 30, 2013.She was a native of Shawnee, OK and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 8:30am to 12:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 12:00 pm Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. Burial: Garden of Memories Cemetery She is survived by her, Brother: Billy Ellzey and wife Phyllis of Norman OK, Son: James Marcel and wife Brenda of Houma LA, and Craig Marcel and wife Dezra of Atlanta GA, Daughters: Judy Andrews of Houma LA, Tammy Breaux of Houma LA, and Lana Falterman and husband David of Sunset LA, Step Daughters: Mary Folse, Jennie Matherne and Connie Hornesby and Family, Step Son: Wayne Matherne and family, She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her, Parents: Lucian L Ellzey Sr. and Lena Jane Ellzey, 1st Spouse: Levy Marcel, 2nd Spouse: Bruce C Matherne, Sister: Mary Skinner and husband Hobb, Patsy Ansel and husband Hershel,and Betty Broughton and husband P.W., Numerous brother in laws and sister in laws in the Marcel and Matherne families and nephews and nieces. She was a member of Bayou Blue Methodist Church. The family would like to give a special thanks to her family at the Oaks of Houma, most especially her wonderful nurses, aids and staff that took care of her in her times need.
