Hilma "Maw Maw" Babin Marcel, a native of Presque Isle and resident of Houma, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008.
Visitation will 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
She is survived by her husband, Arcen Paul Marcel of Houma; two sons, John Marcel and wife, Darlene, of Houma and Rodney Marcel Sr. and wife, Valarie, of Gray; two daughters, Bonnie Adams of Raceland and Dee Dupre and husband, Mike, of Houma; one brother, James Babin of Montegut; three sisters, Dolores Brien of Dularge, Dianne Robichaux of Raceland and Wilma Golden of Memphis, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dule Babin and Bernice Thibodaux Babin; one son, Kevin Marcel; one daughter, Kathleen Toups; one son-in-law, Clabert Adams Sr.; one great-grandson, Arcen Michael Marcel; and 13 brothers and sisters.
She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to play cards, cooking and going to the casino and doing things with her grandchildren. She will be truly missed.
She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
