Joseph Leonard Proskauer, 61, a native of Chicago, and resident of Houma, died at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2008.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Owen Proskauer of Houma; his stepfather, Gerald Chavosky of Chicago; one son, Joe Allen Proskauer and wife, Nicki Brunet Proskauer, of Houma; one daughter, Michelle Proskauer Marcel and husband, Rick Marcel, of Houma; and three grandchildren, Jonathan Marcel, Amber Marcel and Audrey Proskauer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Proskauer and Margaret Goyden Chavosky; and one daughter, Jillian Proskauer.
He was owner of Cajun Comfort and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Houma.
