Donald Pellegrin

Donald Joseph Pellegrin, 80, died Sunday, March 3, 2013. He was a native of Chauvin, LA and resident of Houma, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Annunziata Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 1:00pm at Annunziata Catholic Church. Burial: Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his sons, Donald Pellegrin Jr and wife Elvina "Mickey", Duane Pellegrin and Fiance'e Donna, Frank Pellegrin and wife Kathy, Gregg Pellegrin and wife Faith, Peter Pellegrin and wife Jeanette and Jeffery Pellegrin and wife Uma, two daughters; Suzanne Samocki and husband Peter, Marguerite Pellegrin, one adopted daughter Pam Picou and husband Harry; 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Two honorary "wives", Alice Duplantis Elliot, Joyce Duplantis Matherne and one honorary "fling" Cathy Duplantis. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Harriet Duplantis Pellegrin, parents Adolph Joseph Pellegrin and Ethel Chauvin Pellegrin and step mother Hazel Benson , brothers; Joseph Adolph Pellegrin, David "Dale" Pellegrin and Clyde Pellegrin; his sisters Hazel Claunch, Leona Rousseaux and Marion Giddion. He was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. He was retired from Halliburton He was a member of Annunziata Catholic Church, a charter member of the Annunziata Knights of Columbus and worked with the St. Vincent De Paul Society. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and worked at Halliburton for nearly 20 years. He loved his family, his God, a good cup of coffee and a cold bottle of "Coronado". He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and togetherness that his family will carry on for generations to come. He will be lovingly missed and forever celebrated. "Stop at Nocko's!"
