Eugene "Gene" Joseph Babin,Sr.

Eugene "Gene" Joseph Babin Sr., 69, a native and resident of Houma, died at 6:04 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Jewell Levron Babin of Houma; two sons, Eugene Babin Jr. of Houma and Brian Babin and wife, Jeannie, of Gray; three grandchildren, Brad Babin and friend, Hope, Lenee Babin and Breanna Babin; one step-grandson, Brandon Naquin and wife, Jessica; one step-great-grandchild, Isabella Naquin; one close friend, Beckie LeBoeuf; and his dog, Tiger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Mary Ellen Ledet Babin; and one brother, Dudley Babin. He was a retired pumper/specialist for Texaco and a famous musician who loved hunting, fishing and his family. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
