Hasley Luke "Tee" Prosperie, 72, a native of Montegut and resident of Bourg, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from noon to funeral time Monday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Ann Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Jane Matherne Prosperie of Bourg; two sons, David Paul Prosperie and wife, Rhonda Allemand Prosperie, and Mike "Cuz" Prosperie and wife, Yvonne Pellegrin Prosperie, of Houma; two daughters, Carla Peeler and husband, Ronnie, of Houma, and Christine Himel and husband, Keith, of Pointe-aux-Chenes; three brothers, Gerald Prosperie, Louis Prosperie Jr. and Bert Prosperie; four sisters, Hannah Gayle, Maryetta Ellender, Wendy Lou Lirette and Ann Claire Bonvillain; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Prosperie and wife, Kristin, of Slidell, Tobie Prosperie of Atlanta, Ashli and Noah Prosperie of Houma, Christopher and Codey Peeler of Houma and Heide and Heather Himel of Pointe-aux-Chenes; and one step-grandchild, Breana Hyde of Slidell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Hasley Prosperie Sr. and Bessie Margaret Duplantis Prosperie; and two sisters, Betty Babin and Diane Rhodes.
He was a retired boat captain and was a past president of Montegut Lions Club, a present member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 8616 in Pointe-aux-Chenes and a past member of Krewe of Terranians.
He was a very compassionate person and he loved his family and grandchildren. He also loved his dog, Missy. He loved hunting, fishing and loved to watch his grandkids play sports. He will be sadly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren who loved him so much.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army.
He was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.
